I want you to know that I scoured the interwebs to find the BEST items with the most AMAZING reviews, proceeded to try them, and now I’m letting you in on it.
I’m also going to share with you some brands that I absolutely love and swear by, and some tips that I’ve come across in my research.
First things first, let’s start with the basics. Drink a ton of water (I drink 2-3 liters a day), use SPF even in the winter, and NEVER EVER fall asleep with your makeup on.
TIP #1 – Get facials regularly. I recently went for an anti-aging facial at the Cane+Austin Medi Spa, not only did I see amazing results but they really listened to my concerns, gave me product samples to try, and educated me on what was really going on with my skin. I highly highly recommend them. They also have their own skincare line, I’ve linked it for you HERE.
TIP #2 – Before you end your steamy shower, turn the dial towards cold. Benefits include improved circulation & energy, stress reduction, and shinier hair.
Now let’s get down to the nitty gritty…
BRANDS – Sometimes we just want to stick with one brand that covers all our skincare needs. So I want to start out by sharing four of my favorites, which are Indie Lee, Votary London, Image Skincare and The White Company. I had the chance to attend a master class with Indie Lee (real person) this holiday season at the Byrdie Beauty Lab and it was just fantastic. Votary London is a line of oils, oil to clean your face & oil to moisturize. It smells absolutely fantastic and if you haven’t tried oil to clean your face before, you’re missing out. Image Skincare makes my most favorite sheet mask & also has a 30 Day Collagen shot program that I’m currently obsessing over. Now we have The White Company, I’m sure you’re familiar with this London based brand who now has a skincare line. I’m obsessed with their moisture balm especially for dry winter skin.
FACE CLEANSER – First off I always use Neutrogena Naturals for makeup removal. Indie Lee‘s brightening cleanser does exactly that, BRIGHTENS. I adore Mad Hippie as well. It’s really gentle & hydrating. Lastly Votary London’s oil cleanser is amazing.
BODY CLEANSER – I have super sensitive skin so I usually use Dove, but I’ve started using Schmidt’s lavender body bar and also Farmaesthetics Almond Blosson Natural body wash and I absolutely love both. They leave my skin feeling so fresh and smelling amazing.
MASK – Huge fan of sheet masks, they seal in the ingredients without drying out. Some of my favorites are from Image Skincare, Starskin, Sephora, and Patchology. I’m also pretty obsessed with Patchology’s Foot Mask and their lip mask. 🙂
FACE MOISTURIZER – Ok, by now you know I have an obsession with Indie Lee, lol! Also, if you want to splurge Cle de Peau is amazing. The White Company is my go to when my skin is super dry from this winter weather! Also, love Votary’s oils for moisturization, you can pick your own scent mix.
BODY MOISTURIZER – I love Kiehl’s Creme De Corps. They say it will change your skin in 10 days of regular use and they are 100% correct. I use it after I get out of the shower.
EYE CREAM – Since aging first becomes noticeable near your eye area I’m super into anti-aging here. My favorites are Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balm, Cle de Peau Intensive Eye Contour Cream and Kate Somerville Retinol Firming Eye Cream.
LIP BALM – Both of these will moisturize your lips like nothing else… Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuacu Lip Butter AND Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm. But you’ll need to exfoliate your lips once a week, especially in the winter, so your lips can adequately absorb the balms. I use Fresh Sugar Lip Polish.
SELF TANNER – This is important, not all the time, but when you want to feel a little less pasty. I’ve used St. Tropez for years and absolutely love it, it never fails me. But maybe you want to go a more natural gradual route. NKD SKN makes a great gradual tanner that has zero odor & it’s organic.
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did trying all these awesome products and rounding them up for you! If you happen to try anything on my recommendation I’d love to hear about your experience!
