I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while now. I get so many questions about what skincare I use, and more specifically what I use to get a natural glow. So clearly this has been a long time coming! I’ve been fortunate enough to test drive a bunch of different brands and the ones I’ve included in this post are my ride or dies.
I’m going to take you through this post as I would during my routine. So let’s start with cleansers!
I love L’occitane and VMW to remove my makeup and then I follow that up with the Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser. I’m telling you, you can SEE a different in your skin. Squeaky clean & bright.
As soon as the Dermalogica Thermafoliant hits your skin it heats up, so you can actually feel it cleaning out your pores. I alternate between this & ExfoliKate which is my more frequent exfoliator, leaves my skin super soft and ready for moisturization.
Pretty in love with Image Skincare right now. I usually apply the Water Burst and follow it by the Repair Creme. The Water burst is pretty light, and my skin has been super dry lately so I use both. Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior is AHmazing!! Skin definitely feels more plump.
This step is important, especially in the summer time when you are applying a ton of self tanner. Cane + Austin has Glycolic Acid in it and you can use it on your face as well. Kopari and Indie Lee both leave my skin not only exfoliated but the oils also moisturize.
The Anese duo linked below is strictly for your booty. It’s an exfoliator followed by a mask that plumps & firms that butt!
This is my ultimate all time favorite body creme. They say you can see a difference in your skin after 12 days and they’re 110% correct. SO smooth.
I’m really into COOLA right now, it’s organic, so no chemicals going into your skin.
Vive Sana is new to the scene and boasts ingredients such as photo-protective organic botanicals. It also has non-nano, uncoated zinc, which is the safest approved active SPF. On top of shielding your skin from the sun, it repairs sun damage as it occurs, stimulates skin cell repair, improves elasticity, and evens out skin tone.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is what I used every day when I was in Miami. I prefer SPF 50 (so pale) but they have other options. You’d think that such a high SPF would be extremely thick but it was SO light and not sticky at all.
I live for Patchology, I use their eye gels every day. All their masks take just 5 minutes, so it’s great for your busy on-the-go schedule.
Belif is ultra moisturizing, like I said before I have a problem with dry skin and not only is this moisturizing but it smoothes fine lines. Your eye area is the first to develop those.
Can’t say enough good things about this lip complex. I’ve never come across a lip product so hydrating and it also plumps without the sting.
SERUMS & TREATMENTS
Both Sunday Riley and Image Skincare give you an instant glow on clean natural skin. I’d been hearing so many good things about Sunday Riley and tried Good Genes on a friend’s recommend. My skin is a little sensitive so I use it every other day but have been seeing a noticeable increase in brightness & smoothness.
Image I apply before my two moisturizers (see moisturizer section). The serum brightens with hydrating Vitamin C. I use Perricone Cold Plasma for it’s anti-aging benefits. It firms the skin & reduces lines, discoloration & sagging.
Facial Oils are very trendy right now. They are highly concentrated products, to get the same amount of nourishment from a creme you’d have to apply 5x the dose.
Ugh! I love this section! I mix Peter Thomas Roth with my foundation or just apply it on it’s own before I put makeup on. It gives you an all over natural glow. On the contrary, Skin Fx is for after makeup application, just spray all over your face.
The Ipanema Oil is for you body, it doesn’t transfer to your clothes and gives you a shimmery bronzy dewy glow where ever applied. (not a self tanner)
