3 Nighttime Rituals For A Better Morning

Between our day jobs, our side hustles, and our personal lives, we have so much going on that it can be extremely challenging to unwind at the end of the night. Let’s also not forget how much time we spend on screens and how that affects our physical and mental health. I’ve outlined three rituals that I practice in order to help me fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up feeling more refreshed.

#1 Plan for at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

I don’t think most of you realize how important sleep is to your overall health. Usually we focus on diet and exercise, but sleep is just as important. Statistically speaking, a person is more likely to gain, or have trouble losing, weight if they get less than 6 hours of sleep a night.

#2 No phones, computers, or tvs in bed.

All screens emit blue light. Blue light increases alertness, so being exposed to this at night, right before you try to get some shut eye, isn’t ideal. It can disrupt your sleep cycle even after you’ve put your phone away because your body is still reacting to it’s effects. This then results in fatigue during the daytime.
